some of us didn’t grow up around snow and it shows. 😅 The only thing I didn’t do out there was make a snow angel, but the ground is still covered in it, so I still have a chance lol

Celebrated another trip around the sun the other day and wanted to share some thoughts/reflections.

- Mental planning for what’s to come in 10, 20 years leads to unnecessary stress and anxiety. I had big plans for when I turned 30 and 2 months after that bday, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I spent most of my 30s in and out of treatment centers and endless surgeries while trying to balance my writing career, marriage, and raising 2 young boys. Plans are good, but you can only control the little things. Your habits, reactions to things, thoughts, actions, emotions, your words. Work on yourself. The big things are out of your control.
- Don’t take things so personally. Just because someone doesn’t call/text doesn’t mean they’re not thinking about you. It also doesn’t mean YOU shouldn’t call or text them if you’re thinking about them.
- People are allowed to fuck up. We’re not robots (yet 😩😅).
- You’re not for everyone and everyone is not for you.
- BE A GOOD HUMAN.
- Give yourself grace. You deserve it.
- Do something for yourself every week. You deserve it.
- Go after what YOU want. Fuck the noise.
- The universe doesn’t make mistakes. You are here because you are supposed to be here right now, in this moment. Don’t listen to anyone (including yourself) who makes you think otherwise. You are important. Your presence is a gift.
