Claire Contreras is a New York Times Bestselling author, mother, wife, and breast cancer survivor.
She doesn’t believe in boxes, labels, or anything that limits her contrarian nature. Because of this, she tends to jump between genres (or, rather, sub-genre jump within the romance category).
Regardless of this, you’ll find common threads in all of her stories: multicultural characters (that reflect the melting pot of friends she grew up with), strong heroines (she’s never met a weak woman — they just donโt exist), found families (she doesnโt know where sheโd be without hers), and heroes who fall first, harder, and are always trying to impress the heroine they’re kind of obsessed with (much like the real life morally gray romance hero she married 17 years ago).
Claire was born in the Dominican Republic, raised in Miami, and currently lives in North Carolina, where she spends her time marveling at the beautiful sky, reading, writing, and teaching the two young men she birthed the importance of kindness, acceptance, feminism, and cheering for South Florida teams ๐
Since starting her publishing journey in 2013, she has written over 25 romance novels that have been translated many languages.
Claire gave up social media a couple of years ago, but according to her horoscope, she canโt reach her full potential if sheโs always hiding, so sheโs making it a point to get back out there (as soon as she figures out what platform she likes best lol)
