SO…Dean’s book, huh? I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I’ve been working on it for a while. I started writing it as soon as I finished Darkness Before Dawn, but then I needed a break so I worked on Catch Me and released that. I’m back to writing Dean’s story now and I hope to have it finished soon. Once I’m done with his, I can go back to Catch Me and write the spin-offs I have planned there.
I got Dean’s cover made yesterday and I kept thinking about how I would show it to you. I didn’t really want to do a whole “cover reveal tour” because I’m writing this book for you, the fans of the Darkness Series. Prisoner cannot be really read as a standalone (I wouldn’t really recommend it, anyway). I started writing it because I wanted to tell Dean’s story, but I kept on writing it because of you. If it weren’t for the people that email me and ask me about him, I would have said “forget it” and just written the rest of the books in Catch Me. It’s not that I don’t love his story, it’s not that I don’t enjoy being in his head, it’s just that sometimes I feel like I have to go through a lot to get there. It’s very difficult to explain. I was trying to write a couple of stories at once, so I was in Hendrix’s head (music exec), his wife Sarah’s head (music producer), Nina’s head (actress), Damien’s head (movie director), Shea’s head (rapper), and then there’s Dean…the thinker, the philosopher, the good guy gone bad. It was tough. It was really, really tough. So I decided to put the other people on hold and just listen to him and let him tell me his story first. That’s what’s going on now :).
Without further ado, here is the book cover…
